Annual General Meeting - Wednesday 13th November 2024 - Report and Photos

The November meeting, which is the Annual General Meeting, had 33 Members in attendance so everything was in order for the AGM to proceed.

Tim Mortimer opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. Apologies had been received from a number of Club Members.

The Minutes from the 2023 AGM, having been circulated prior to the meeting, were accepted as a true record.

The Chairman/ Programme Secretary, Secretary, Treasurer, and Web Administrator all presented their reports.

It was unanimously agreed that the Annual Subscription fee would remain at £30.00 and the attendance fee would remain at £3.00 per visit.

Election of Club Committee:

Standing down - Arthur Kingdon (Secretary)
Standing for election - Arthur Kingdon (Secretary)
There being no further nominations, Arthur Kingdon was elected unopposed.

Any Other Business:
A question was asked regarding proposed building works to the Hall. It was confimed by our representative on the Hall Committee that no decision had been reached.

There was a discussion on whether or not to hold an all-day event in 2025. The Chairman agreed that this would be considered.

Graham Furze gave thanks for the high number of members who had completed his questionnaire. He was encouraged by the number who had indicated a willingness to help in organizing a Training Group and he requested that members willing to help should contact him.

There being no further business the AGM concluded at 19:40 hrs.

The full minutes of the meeting will be published and distributed to the Club Membership in due course.


The other main event of the evening was the Auction.  There were 118 lots in the catalogue issued to the Club Members prior to the meeting.

Arthur Kingdon was the auctioneer (ably assisted by three 'runners') - and he efficiently worked through all of the lots in an hour.  The bidding was brisk and the Membership was generous - generating a sizeable contribution to Club funds!   Thank you.
