Annual General Meeting 9th November 2022 - Report and Photos by Arthur Kingdon
The November meeting, which is the Annual General Meeting, had 33 Members in
attendance so everything was in order for the AGM to proceed.
Mike Crawshaw opened the meeting and welcomed everyone.
Apologies had been received from a number of Club Members.
The Minutes from the 2019 AGM, having been circulated prior to the meeting, were
accepted as a true record.
There was one matter arising and that was the topic of upgrading our AV system.
Little progress had been made on this until recently, when Tim Mortimer had
stepped in and purchased two LED screens. He fabricated two stands for the
screens, plus a cross rail system for holding a second camera, all at no cost to
the Club. The result was on display and it looked impressive indeed. Tim was
warmly thanked for his generosity.
The Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer all presented their reports.
It was unanimously agreed that the annual subscription would rise to £30.
George Gansbuehler (Raffle Organiser) and Bob Sawyer (Events Organiser) were
re-elected unopposed.
A change to the Constitution to facilitate Internet banking was unanimously
agreed.
The AGM concluded at 8.10pm.
The full minutes of the meeting will be published and distributed to the Club
Membership in due course.
The other main event of the evening was the Auction. There were 141 lots in the catalogue issued to the Club Members prior to the meeting. Around half the lots were being sold on behalf of Vernon Hughes, the remainder were generous donations from Members.
Arthur Kingdon was the auctioneer (ably assisted by three 'runners') - and he efficiently worked through all of the lots in an hour and a half. All of the lots were sold (except one book, which was given away at the end). The bidding was brisk and the result was a healthy contribution to Club funds! Thank you.
