Annual General Meeting - Wednesday 8th November 2023 - Report and Photos

The November meeting, which is the Annual General Meeting, had 32 Members in attendance so everything was in order for the AGM to proceed.

Mike Crawshaw opened the meeting and welcomed everyone. Apologies had been received from a number of Club Members.

The Minutes from the 2022 AGM, having been circulated prior to the meeting, were accepted as a true record.

The Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Web Administrator and Programme Secretary all presented their reports.

It was unanimously agreed that the Annual Subscription fee would remain at £30.00 and the attendance fee would remain at £3.00 per visit.

Election of Club Committee:
Standing down - Mike Crawshaw (Chairman) and Dave Newman (Equipment Manager)
Standing for election: Tim Mortimer (Chairman)

The following posts were vacant: Events Co-ordinator and Equipment Manager
Standing for election: Martin Barrett (Events Co-ordinator) and Paul Kohn (Equipment Manager)

As per our Constitution the following stood down: Ken Gateley (Treasurer) and Harry Rock (Web Administrator/ Membership Secretary) Standing for election: Ken Gateley (Treasurer) and Harry Rock (Web Administrator/ Membership Secretary)

There were no other nominations - therefore, all the nominees were elected unopposed.

In addition, the Club Librarian, John Sawyer, had stood down - Dave Branscombe was welcomed in this position.

The format of Meetings and Workshop days was discussed - these would continue as before.

Any Other Business: Graham Furze proposed a vote of thanks for the Committee and this was applauded.

There being no further business the AGM concluded at 20.10 hrs.

The full minutes of the meeting will be published and distributed to the Club Membership in due course.

The other main event of the evening was the Auction. There were 151 lots in the catalogue issued to the Club Members prior to the meeting.

Arthur Kingdon was the auctioneer (ably assisted by three 'runners') - and he efficiently worked through all of the lots in an hour and a quarter. The bidding was brisk and the Membership was generous - generating a sizeable contribution to Club funds! Thank you.
